Tom pagano, PE, pTOE

New York, NY

Tom Pagano has over 15 years of experience, all with Sam Schwartz, where he currently holds the title of Associate and is the Director of Transportation Management and Design. Tom's largest project has been the World Trade Center (WTC), helping to manage construction logistics and transitioning to serving as the facility's Operations Engineer working on-site at the Port Authority for several years. Tom's experience with both the private and public sectors gives him a well-rounded perspective on the industry. His technical background is highly diverse—the WTC project has had a multi-modal focus, requiring studies of tour buses, for-hire vehicles, pedestrian flow (on-street and in transit systems), truck movements and logistics, and cyclists, as well as making sure the interactions between these modes are accommodated safely.

In addition, Tom has completed a variety of successful projects involving signal design, traffic impact studies, and curbside parking utilization assessments for large developments. Tom is currently serving as President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers Met Section.

Whether it is driving, biking to work nearly every day, or simply piloting a stroller with two young children through the New York City streets and subways, Tom is passionate about finding solutions that make the journey safe and enjoyable for everyone.
