Rachel Beer, PE, PTOE is an Associate and Director of Traffic Analysis in the New York office. She specializes in transportation modeling using HCS/Synchro software, environmental impact statements, large-scale data collection, and traffic, pedestrian, parking, and transit analyses. Ms. Beer enjoys collaborating with clients to achieve their unique transportation needs. Her project work includes a range of bus improvement, pedestrian plaza, street conversion, and site access/circulation studies, including 14th Street Busway and Plaza33, working with many New York City agencies and private/institutional/non-profit clients. She also worked as an in-house consultant with NYC DOT reviewing CEQR transportation analyses and has a deep understanding of NYC DOT requirements for transportation studies.

Ms. Beer serves on the Industry Committee for the ITE Met Section and is a member of the WTS Greater New York Chapter. She is also passionate about mentorship – leading and organizing Sam Schwartz’s annual mentoring program, and has served as both a mentor and mentee over the years.


 

Who do you admire? Why?

My grandma. She showed me at a young age that you could have it all – a loving family, successful career, and have fun while doing it. She’s incredibly sharp, always learning something new…and the first to notify me of any news related to my projects!
