Joe Iacobucci is the New Mobility Practice Leader for Sam Schwartz. He is an internationally recognized leader in the transportation field focusing his career on transforming urban streets and transportation networks to enhance equity, connectivity, safety, and optimization by prioritizing sustainable modes. 

Mr. Iacobucci’s experience focuses on enhancing urban mobility through traditional urban multimodal network and complete street design with a focus on emerging modes and systems as AV transit, CAVs, Mobility on Demand, AAM, MaaS, TNCs, micromobility, and others.  He is also a leader in broader transportation trends as congestion pricing, road usage charge, and digital policy. Mr. Iacobucci’s work has guided clients through a variety of site, street, and strategic for Seattle, Los Angeles, New York City, San Jose, Miami, Riyadh, and other major markets. He has also performed national studies for Transit Center and the National Academies, thought leadership and pilot programs for providers as Ford, Lyft, Lime, May Mobility, Cavnue, and others, and federal guidance for USDOT, APTA, and NACTO. 

Key to his approach is his intuitive grasp of mass transit, equitable mobility, access, market optimization, and transportation technology which has led to success in advising clients on integrating emerging technologies with traditional modes and transit networks. Mr. Iacobucci excels at framing transportation issues into compelling narratives as reflected in several high-profile planning reports.

He is a contributor to the book No One at the Wheel, the co-author of Driverless Future (driverlessfuture.org), and his work has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wired, Fast Company, Tech Crunch, Slate, CityLab, Curbed, several conferences, and academic publications.

Leading congestion pricing projects for the firm in Seattle and San Francisco. Redesigning Logan Square in Chicago and the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. Helping Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Cambridge and Miami-Dade County prepare strategies for new mobility and autonomous vehicles. Working on equitable TOD strategies and plans in Chicago and Detroit.
