Al Meyer has over 40 years of public and private sector experience in transportation planning, 27 of them at Sam Schwartz.  He has a wide range of multi-disciplinary project and staff management experience in the planning, design, and development of major capital improvement projects in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. Currently, he is the client manager for the firm’s largest client, the Port Authority of NY&NJ. He directs Sam Schwartz teams assisting the Port Authority in the redevelopment of their facilities including LaGuardia and JFK airports. Prior to working at Sam Schwartz, Mr. Meyer was a Vice President at the engineering firm Hayden Wegman, Director of Transportation at Hartz Mountain Industries, and Assistant Vice President for Waterfront Planning and Design at the New York City Public Development Corporation. He began his career at New Jersey Transit.
